Green areas and the potential of Nova Iguaçu municipal natural park (pnmni) for the hypothesis of the basket of territorial goods and services

Abstract

Objective: This article proposes using the basket of territorial goods and services (CBST) perspective to assess the potential of a green area for collective use, called the Nova Iguaçu Natural Park, with no intention of integrating with other territorial resources of the municipality, empowering them. Methodology: case study and application of semi-structured questionnaire form the methodological instruments considered pertinent to the approach of the study. Results: I identified that the CBST resignifies the sense of territorial belonging and population identity from years of environmental education, and that the urban green space of the PNMNI may comprise a CBST. Limitations/Implications: The main challenges encountered in carrying out this study will correspond to the number of respondents to the questionnaire due to adverse external factors, the absence of a collection of civic user opinion of the park due to the time factor and the clear exposure of the emerging thermological approach of CBST, being necessary more empirical instruments to complement their conception. Originality: By considering the PNMNI as territorial heritage and landscape, was possible to correlate the CBST emerging concept, to identity and value aspects inherent to territorial development, giving applicability to this conceptual triad given the specificities of the studied locality.

Rebeca Martins do Amaral, Federal Center for Technological Education Celso Suckow da Fonseca

Rebeca Amaral holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (Multidisciplinary Institute, Campus Nova Iguaçu). She gained experience in the market-accounting area-in the private sector and also in the area of entrepreneurship in the gourmet food industry as a micro-entrepreneur. While still in academia, she worked as an accounting monitor at UFRRJ. Currently, she is a Master's student in Regional Development and Productive Systems at CEFET-RJ and a researcher in the area of Administration focused on the Solidarity Economy.

Herlander Costa Alegre da Gama Afonso, Federal Center for Technological Education Celso Suckow da Fonseca

He holds a PhD in Transport Engineering from the Transport Engineering Program/Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - PET/COPPE/UFRJ (2013), Master's Degree in Transport Engineering from the Military Institute of Engineering (2006); Specialization in Management and Strategy in Agribusiness, by the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (2002). He holds a degree in Economic Sciences, Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (1999). He served in postgraduate courses at AVM / UCAM and ESAO / Ministry of Defense. He is a professor of the Production Engineering course at the Federal Center for Technological Education Celso Suckow da Fonseca (CEFET / RJ).
