Abstract

Objective: This article is the product of a master's thesis on particulate material, which used as a reference the “Praça do Trabalhador”, in Goiânia city, capital of Goiás state. Methodology: The X-ray Fluorescence analytical technique was used to characterize the suspended particulate particulates. The following specific authors were used: Manahan, 2013; Baird, 2007; Conama Resolutions 03/90 and 491/18, STATE DECREE 1745/79, in addition to articles that work with Environmental Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry. Results: The discussions show that Pb metal is harmful to the people of Goiás, the legislation needs to be revised in order to establish more rigorous levels of acceptance of metals suspended in the air, when comparing the values legislated in Brazil, with other countries such as UK. Research Limitations: Praça do Trabalhador was used as the studed place. Originality: a tool that can be used by universities and governments to characterize particulate material. This article dialogues with other areas of knowledge: Geography, Biology, Physics and Chemistry itself and its developments.
