VL - 8 IS - 1 SE - Information Studies DO - 10.32358/rpd.2022.v8.627 UR - https://revistas.cefet-rj.br/index.php/producaoedesenvolvimento/article/view/627 SP - e627 AB - <p><strong>Purpose: </strong>The purpose of this article is to analyze the circular economy and its importance of it in the urban context of circular cities. <strong>Methodology: </strong>A bibliometric review was performed based on the Web of Science platform. 378 articles were selected with 3 refinements related to the type of document, year of publication and open access articles. The compilation of the database took place in the RStudio program using the Bibliometrix package. <strong>Limitation: </strong>due to difficulties in collecting 2022 data, it was decided to keep the complete data contained in the index. <strong>Results: </strong>The results showed a great relationship between themes, authors, countries and keywords, which elucidates the importance of this theme at a global level, highlighting the <span style="font-size: 0.875rem;">journal</span><span style="font-size: 0.875rem;"> Sustainability with 155 published articles and the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands with 47 articles with by its researchers. </span><strong style="font-size: 0.875rem;">Originality: </strong><span style="font-size: 0.875rem;">The search for sustainable practices has gained prominence among companies and large corporations as a strategic measure to reduce costs, but recently the concept of circular cities has received contributions that seek to support public policy makers to take better care of the environment.</span></p> ER -
